Direct Messages¶
Send private messages to other RU4M professionals. Start conversations, share information, and build professional relationships.
Prerequisites¶
- A registered RU4M account
Steps¶
1. Open Chat¶
Tap the Chat icon in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Go to Direct Messages¶
Tap the DM tab to see your direct message conversations.
3. View your conversations¶
Browse your existing conversations. Each conversation shows the contact's name, photo, and the last message.
4. Open a conversation¶
Tap a conversation to open it and see the full message history.
5. Send a message¶
Type your message in the text field at the bottom and tap the send button.
6. Send attachments¶
Tap the attachment icon to send files, photos, or other media.
Starting a New Conversation¶
To start a new direct message:
- Find a user through the Explore map, Events, or your Connections
- Open their profile
- Tap the message/chat icon to start a conversation
Quick connection
After connecting with someone at an event, send a quick follow-up message to strengthen the connection.
