Explore Map Overview

The Explore map is the heart of RU4M. It shows professionals near you as pins on an interactive map, making it easy to discover and connect with people in your area.

Prerequisites

  • A completed RU4M profile
  • Location services enabled on your device

Opening the Map

1. Tap the Explore tab

Tap the Explore icon in the bottom navigation bar. The map will open showing your current location.

2. Grant location permission

If this is your first time, iOS will ask for location permission. Tap Allow While Using App for the best experience.

RU4M needs your location to show professionals near you. If you deny location access, the map will still work but you'll need to use Teleport to set your position.

3. Browse the map

Professionals appear as pins on the map. Zoom in or out and pan around to explore different areas.

4. Tap a pin

Tap any pin on the map to see a quick profile card with the user's photo, name, and job title.

5. View full profile

Tap View on the profile card to see the full user profile with bio, interests, and connection options.

6. View users as a list

Swipe up on the bottom sheet to see all nearby professionals in a scrollable list format.

Map vs. List

The bottom sheet list shows the same professionals visible on the map. Apply filters to narrow down results in both views.
