Account & Registration¶
Q: How do I create an account?
You can create an account using email, LinkedIn, Google, or Apple. See the Registration guide for step-by-step instructions.
Q: Can I change my email address?
Currently, the email address associated with your account cannot be changed. If you need to use a different email, you'll need to create a new account.
Q: I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Tap "Forgot Password?" on the Sign In screen and follow the instructions to reset your password via email. See Login > Forgot Password.
Q: My account is locked. What do I do?
Your account may be temporarily locked after too many failed login attempts. Check your email for instructions on how to unlock your account.
Explore & Map¶
Q: Why can't I see anyone on the map?
Possible reasons:
- No users are nearby — Try using Teleport to explore a different location
- Filters are too restrictive — Clear your filters
- Location services are disabled — Enable GPS in your device settings
Q: How does the Teleport feature work?
Teleport lets you virtually move your map view to any location worldwide. See the Teleport guide.
Q: Can others see my exact location?
Your location is shown as a general area on the map, not a precise GPS coordinate. You can also hide your location or lock it to a specific position.
Q: What does "Lock Location" mean?
Locking your location fixes your position on the map. Other users will see you at that locked position even if you physically move. Useful for staying visible at an event venue.
Events¶
Q: How do I join an event?
Browse events in the Events tab, open the event details, and follow the registration/join instructions.
Q: Where do I find my event ticket?
Your ticket is available in the event details screen. See Tickets & QR Codes.
Q: How do invite codes work?
Invite codes are provided by event organizers for exclusive access. Enter your code following the Redeem Code guide.
Calendar & Meetings¶
Q: How do I schedule a meeting?
Use the Calendar tab and tap the + button. See Create a Meeting.
Q: Can I sync RU4M with my phone's calendar?
Yes, RU4M supports CalDAV integration. See CalDAV Integration.
Q: What happens when I decline a meeting?
The meeting organizer is notified. You can also propose a different time instead of declining.
Chat & Messaging¶
Q: Can I message anyone on RU4M?
You can send messages to users you're connected with. To message someone new, first send a connection request.
Q: Are my messages private?
Direct messages are private between you and the other user. Group chats are visible to all group members.
Profile & Connections¶
Q: How do I share my profile?
Use the Share button on your profile to generate a QR code or shareable link. See Share Profile.
Q: Can I remove a connection?
Yes, you can remove connections from your connections list. The other user won't be notified. See Connections.
Privacy & Settings¶
Q: How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. See Account Management. This action is permanent.
Q: How do I change the app language?
Go to Settings > Language and select your preferred language. See Appearance & Language.
Q: How do I enable dark mode?
Go to Settings > Appearance and select Dark theme. See Appearance & Language.
