Interests¶
Your professional interests help RU4M recommend relevant connections and events. They also help other professionals find you based on shared interests.
Prerequisites¶
- A registered RU4M account
Viewing Your Interests¶
1. Open your profile¶
Navigate to your profile and scroll to the Interests section.
2. View current interests¶
See the professional interest tags currently associated with your profile.
Updating Your Interests¶
3. Edit interests¶
Tap the Edit button on the interests section to modify your selections.
4. Browse categories¶
Browse through available interest categories such as:
- Technology
- Business & Finance
- Marketing & Sales
- Design & Creative
- Healthcare
- Education
- Engineering
- And more...
5. Select interests¶
Tap on interests to add or remove them from your profile.
6. Save changes¶
Tap Save to update your interests.
Be specific
The more specific your interests, the better RU4M can match you with relevant professionals and events. Instead of just "Technology", also select specific areas like "Machine Learning" or "Mobile Development".
How Interests Work¶
- Search visibility — Users searching for your interests will find you more easily
- Event recommendations — Events matching your interests may be highlighted
- Map discovery — Professionals with shared interests stand out on the map
- Connection suggestions — RU4M may suggest connections based on shared interests
